The ELEMENTAL 3 Awards will be judged by a highly talented group of industry leaders. To reflect the broad range of work created using Autodesk digital content creation solutions we have chosen several categories in which the ELEMENTAL 3 Awards will be judged. Award recipients will demonstrate an outstanding fusion of artistic and technical excellence. Master (gold) and Excellence (silver) awards will be given in the following categories:

Abstract & Commercial Design Recognizes the most outstanding images that are either predominantly abstract or designed for commercial use. The artist’s design and artistic expression are paramount in creating images that excel in pure design and visual appeal.

Architectural Exterior
Awards the best exterior architectural visualization, independent of style or setting. This category tests the artist’s ability to create a space that is not just believable, but inspirational and evokes a desire to visit the location/building/space.

Architectural Interior Awards the best interior architectural visualization, independent of style or setting. This category tests the artist’s ability to create an interior setting that is not just believable, but inspirational and evokes a desire to visit the space.

Architectural Reconstruction
Awards the best architectural reconstruction of an existing landmark. This category tests the artist¹s ability to recreate a structure that exists right down to the weathered materials that make up the structure and its intricate details.

Cinematics & Visual Effects Recognizes the best examples of moving art and effects found in film and broadcast mediums. Successful entries will feature expressive characters, detailed environments, and outstanding visual effects that all combine to enhance the narrative.

Character in Action Honors the highest achievement in capturing the sheer power, energy and elegance of a character in motion. Although many digital artists aspire to create animations that come to life, it is a rare talent to capture expressive motion frozen in a moment in time.

Character in Repose
Recognizes the greatest talent in bringing a character to life. This encompasses technical skill, believability, composition and, most of all, emotion.

Conflict Honors the greatest talent in creating a scene of conflict. The defining criterion for the category is the artist’s ability to capture a moment of danger just passed or about to happen. Successful entries encompassed technical skill, composition, and storytelling.

Environment

Recognizes the best set or location whether indoors, outdoors, underwater, or in space. The artist's ability to evoke a sense of wonder and a wish to see more is paramount. This category demands a combination of artistic interpretation, detail and lighting to create a believable and enticing environment.

Product Design Awards the most outstanding image that demonstrates excellence in technical design and execution. This includes the intricacy of the product design and the technical excellence of the modeling, texturing, and lighting.

Transport

Awards the best device for moving about in. The defining quality sought after here is the artist's ability to capture and evoke the desire to travel to a place, or by a mode of transport or to travel in a particular way.
