She of the Jade Skirt It is said that Chalchiuhtlicue, the Aztec Water Goddess was furious with humans for their wicked ways.
She swirled the seas into a fury and commanded the rain to pour down and flood the land. All life was destroyed, except for a few animals and humans which she transformed into fish.
